UPDATE: As of February 1, 2017, the Lake Alert for Lake Wade has been LIFTED. Based upon the most recent water samples taken on January 30, 2017, the bacteria counts in Lake Wade have dropped to acceptable State Water Quality Standards. Resume normal activities on the lake.

A Lake Alert has been issued for Lake Wade, which is located just south of Boone High School in Wadeview Park [GMap].

The City of Orlando is in the process of confirming the possibility of a sanitary line backup in the neighborhood. Warning signs have been installed around the lake and nearby homes have been posted with door hangers. The signs will be removed once bacteria levels drop and meet State-regulated water quality standards.

All activities on and around the lake must cease until further notice.

For further information regarding the sewer discharge, please contact Athena Tipaldos, Wastewater Compliance Manager, at athena.tipaldos@cityoforlando.net.
