Talbert Gray, the first African American TV newsman in Florida, will be speaking about his career at 2 p.m. February 26 at the Orlando Public Library.

Talbert Gray was hired by WESH-TV in 1969, becoming the first black newsman on a commercial station in Florida. He went on to have a career in television, newspaper, magazines, and radio.

Gray also created and published the Observer, a weekly newspaper, and published the first black magazine in Central Florida.
