As it stands, the segment of Virginia Drive between North Orange Avenue to Ferris Avenue in Ivanhoe Village is a County-owned road, but that could soon change. The City of Orlando has asked for control of the road and the County has agreed.

The City Council will vote on the transfer at the February 13 Council meeting. To see the official deed for the proposal, click HERE.

This announcement follows on the heels of the recently completed Virginia Drive Corridor Study that suggested a number of changes for the growing corridor. To see what suggestions came from the study, click HERE.

The first phase of construction for The Yard at Ivanhoe has long expected to be the rerouting of Alden Road, north of Virginia, but seems to have hit a snag with FDOT. We’ve reached out to the State to hear what the issue may be but have yet to hear back. If all goes as planned, the northern segment of Alden Road will soon disappear and be replaced by a new segment of road which will connect to Philadelphia Avenue via a new stop light and intersection. Philadelphia Avenue will be renamed Alden Road.
