A new coffee shop/retail store has opened on New England Avenue called New General (Facebook | Website).
The New General is a contemporary take on a general store, and serves coffee and breakfast from a street-facing window, which opens at 7 a.m., as well as a variety of apothecary, home goods, designer kitchenware, sundries, and apparel. There is an emphasis on heavy curation, so everything in the space is high-quality and hand-picked by the owners because they believe in the products.
They offer a number of locally-sourced items on their menu, including coffee that is roasted by Lineage Coffee (Website), chocolate by Peterbrooke Chocolatier, and baked goods from Buttermilk Bakery. The cafe also offers a variety of artisan grab-and-go offerings like Tuna White Bean Salad and Cauliflower Hash Browns.
The store was designed by the geniuses at MAKR (Website), another Winter Park-based business. Their popular canvas bags are sold here as well.
It’s located in the former home of Colonial Drugs, at 155 New England Avenue, Winter Park [GMap].
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and it’s closed on Mondays.
