PROMO: Orlando Soup (Facebook | Website), the micro-grant dinner where diners vote on a community project to fund as part of their dessert.
Diners enjoy a simple supper of soup and salad before listening to four speakers pitching a community action project. PowerPoints are not permitted. The guests then vote on their favorite idea, with the winner getting the majority of funds from the door, which generally totals to about $800.
Some months have matching donors, who double the amount of the money available.
The next Orlando Soup will take place on March 27.
