According to local transit watchdog blog, SunRail Riders (Website), there were over 12,000 boarding this past Saturday for weekend service.

The Florida Department of Transportation offices reported that there were 12,842 boardings this past Saturday. There were multiple reports of standing-room only trains and ticket machine failures at the Longwood and Maitland stations.

As we reported last week, HERE, there were a number of large-scale events and road closures Downtown.

Boardings count every time someone enters the train. Most SunRail riders take the train for return trips, so it’s estimated that there were roughly 6,000 people using the service.
