New restaurant opening in former home of Smiling Bison

-

UPDATE 4/17: The new owners have informed us that this will be an “American Casual Neighborhood-style restaurant” offering gourmet burgers, wings, and flatbreads. There will be a full bar and craft beers available on draft, bottle, and can. This is their first restaurant project.

A new restaurant concept called Blue Jacket Grille (Facebook) will be opening in the former home of Smiling Bison, at 745 Bennet Road (GMap).

The name is derived from the nearby Blue Jacket Park property, which was once home to the Orlando Naval Training Center. Personnel at the Center were referred to as “Blue Jackets.” The City of Orlando installed a memorial statue called The Lone Sailor at the park in July 2016.

An estimated opening date for the new restaurant has not been released.

Local blog, The Daily City (Website), broke the story earlier in the month, HERE.
