The Sears department store at Fashion Square Mall closed in November, 2016, after being in business for 50 years. The closure was a result of the property being reclaimed by Seritage Growth Partners, who had worked a reclamation agreement into their leasing agreement with Sears when they had purchased the property, years ago.

According to paperwork filed with the City, the property will be redeveloped with over 100,000 SF of retail space, including an Orchard Supply Hardware (Website) location. The northern section of the parcel is planned to host over 100 new multi-family units.

A report by the Orlando Business Journal last September stated that construction is expected to be completed one year from now.

Another residential project is planned nearby called Alexan at Audubon. More information on that development is available HERE.
