The 2017 Call of Duty World League Championship will be held at the Amway Center, from August 9-13.
Call of Duty is a popular first-person shooter video game series that has made its way into the eSports industry, where people pay to watch professionals play. The industry is expected to have generated nearly $500 M in revenue in 2016.
The upcoming Orlando e-sport event has a prize pot of $1.5 M up-for-grabs, which is part of a Season prize pool of $4 M, the largest in Call of Duty tournament history.
This will be the first time the event has occurred on the East Coast.
The championship will pit 32 teams against each other to win the aforementioned prize package. Six of which have already been qualified for this round, at the time of this post; Team EnVyUs, Spyce, Evil Geniuses, FaZe Clan, Rise Nation, and Australia-based Mindfreak.
