Following the recent announcement that Red Mug Diner (Facebook | Website) had halved its footprint and launched a new menu, the Downtown diner is now closed.
Co-owner, Romi Mawardi, told Bungalower that they are still moving forward with the plan for a poke restaurant but that they would entertain moving the concept somewhere else if someone wanted to operate out of the entire space.
“[A] New concept which focuses on liquor will be placed there. We also would rent it out to a chain brand. If they came along.”

What about the employees who we’re there. When they just shut down with out notice?
The Orlando Sentinel claims they’re going to reopen after 30-60 days of renovations. Any thoughts on that?
Only that the team behind the concept needs to get on the same page about messaging.
Fair enough. I kinda hope they do reopen under the Red Mug name, but I’m not terribly optimistic.
We received this message today, “We aren’t opening red mug again. Looking to rent it out, if we don’t find a solid tenant in a few months we will come up with a concept ourselves.”
