The long-stalled Cambria Hotel and Suites project at the corner of East Washington Street and North Rosalind has started moving again.
The project would transform a vacant lot at 170 E. Washington Street [GMap], adjacent to the St. George Orthodox Church, into a 155-room hotel overlooking Lake Eola.
The design for the eight-story hotel were done by Hannouche Architects (Website) in California and will go before the Municipal Planning Board at the September 19 meeting. Notable amenities include rooftop terrace, balconies, and a notably modern design aesthetic.
The hotel was originally pitched for the site back in 2011. Changes include more parking, more square footage, and an increase in height. Click HERE to see the original design by ACi Architecture.
