UPDATE 8/30: Lake Alert Issued for Clear Lake lifted BUT CITY OF ORLANDO – Lake Alert Remains in Effect for Barker Park Canal (adjacent to Clear Lake).

For the third time in two years, a Lake Alert has been issued for Clear Lake.

According to a public notification issued by the City of Orlando Streets and Stormwater Division, a breakage in a contractor’s bypass hose discharged approximately 100 gallons of sanitary waste on South Parramore between Citrus Street and Raleigh Street [GMap].

City staff has already performed cleanup in the impacted area but as a precaution warning signs were placed at the Barker Park boat ramp and fishing pier advising residents to cease any activities on the water until further notice, in case the sewage made its way to the lake.

A Lake Alert was issued in December, 2015 and again in June, 2017.
