Facebook has recently launched an “Order Food” option under the Explore bar on their platform (look at the bottom left-hand corner of the image below).

Clicking on the option brings you to an aggregated list of all of the partnering restaurants in your immediate area. Price range is indicated by the number of dollar signs and the Facebook rating on each restaurant’s page is ranked under their names.

The payment is handled within Facebook and facilitated by Delivery.com or Slice.

The new food service is still being tested and added to, and is likely to change in the near future. This is the latest in a series of moves by the social media site to offer features that keep its users from leaving the site. Other recent add-ons include Facebook TV, Weather, Town Hall, and job searching options, among others.

Editor’s Note: No word yet on whether they’ll launch their own Facebook Match Maker option. Nobody knows you like Facebook and Google does … #algorithmcookies
