Carmine Oddities Boutique (Facebook | Website) is hosting a unique workshop on Saturday, March 3 where participants can learn professional taxidermy on a small scale.

The class will share how to create their own piece using “domestically raised, naturally-deceased rats.” Students will learn proper skinning, fleshing, degreasing, and preservation techniques to sculpt a custom taxidermy sculpture.

The event page on Facebook says that all rats were sourced “humanely and sustainably – nothing is killed for the sake of this class.”

The workshop host is Divya Anantharaman (Website), an award-winning taxidermist from New York City. Click HERE to see some of her past works, including these fingernails made from jewel beetles.
