Tin and Taco owner, Rob Bair, has just informed Bungalower of where he will be opening his second taco eatery in the SODO district , the Kimchi Korean Grill space.

Bair told Bungalower that the Kimchi owner was ready to retire and let him swoop in on her lease. The new building, located at 419 E. Michigan Street [GMap], is just north of the upcoming 11-acre Pineloch development.

The new concept is substantially larger than Bair’s current space and will allow him to branch out further with the menu, drink selection, and literally just stretch out his arms because that kitchen in his first space is tiny. In fact the current space has no gas, no friers, and a limited electric grid.

“We’re really going to step our game up … it’s gonna be insane.” – Rob Bair

The new space will combine a beer package store with a Mexican restaurant where guests will be able to choose from over 60 styles of beer in fridges lining the space, along the lines of Gnarly Barley in Ivanhoe Village.

Menu-wise, look for plenty of new additions. Bair said he’s playing with everything at the moment, including smoked brisket and nachos – which we tried and LOVED – and a new dessert menu.

Look for an opening in late April of this year.
