The owners of Gnarly Barley (Facebook | Website) have begun the build-out of a new space in Thornton Park.

Big Time Streetfood Co. will be a new grab ‘n’ go commissary concept located next to Burton’s Bar at 805 E. Washington Street [GMap]. The confident name is actually a shout-out to an old Yelp review the first Gnarly received after it opened, where someone kept calling everything they had done “big time.” The post became somewhat of an ongoing joke with the Gnarly team, and inevitably they knew this would be the name of their next concept.

The menu will focus on anything handheld, like burgers and dogs with a mix of bar food with a Gnarly-inspired twist. The location is not a Gnarly satellite location though, it’s a completely separate entity. Guests will be able to take advantage of grab ‘n’ go picnic basket options before heading over to nearby Lake Eola. The menu will be small, but with weekly specials.

Hours will parrot neighboring Burton’s Bar with happy hour and dinner options as well as late-night service. Brunch/lunch will be considered later on in the year.

The branding for Big Time is still in the works and is being created by Nick Ortiz of Little Box Guy (Website).

The build-out is expected to be done in February with a n opening in late March/early April.
