SunRail will be testing trains on the tracks in the southern expansion area between the Sand Lake Road and Poinciana stations in the next few weeks.

The testing will take place during the daytime with varying dates and times.

Testing is meant to get the train crews familiar with the new 17-mile service area that will add four new stations in Meadow Woods, the new Tupperware station, Downtown Kissimmee, and the intersection of Poinciana Boulevard and Old Tampa Highway.

The southern expansion is expected to open mid-summer.
