The City of Orlando’s Pottery Studio (Website) has been open since 1968, tucked away in a corner of the Downtown Recreation Complex – where they recently lost their shed for the construction of a new road.

The Orange County Regional History Center (Website) will be hosting an exhibition entitled Sculpted, Thrown, and Fired: Celebrating 50 Years at the Potter Studiobeginning February 24 and running through May 6.

The History Center will host a series of events that parallel the exhibition, including a Grand Opening and Family & Youth Discovery Day on Saturday, March 3, free with admission from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Pottery Date Night programs on March 15 and April 19.

IT was announced in November of last year that the City of Orlando was considering moving the Pottery Studio into Grand Avenue School. More on that story HERE.
