The City of Orlando’s Historic Preservation Board is looking for a few good photographers to submit photos of the “built historic streetscape and landscape enhancements in the city to feature in its 2019 calendar.”
The annual search for photographers is an ongoing program that supports historic preservation efforts in the City Beautiful. The Historic Preservation Board Calendar has been produced by the City since 1991. Check out last year’s winners HERE.
In order to photos to qualify, they must include streetscape and landscape features including bricked streets, decorative fences or fates, bridges, paths, arbors, fountains, statues, monuments, street lighting, or other constructed enhancements throughout the city’s historic neighborhoods and districts, including the historic Downtown Central Business District, Leu Gardens, Greenwood Cemetery, Lake Eola Park, Dickson-Azalea Park, and Orwin Manor Park.
Interested parties can submit up to three photographs but they must be in black and white and printed on 8×10 or 8.5×11 photo paper with a white border. Vertical or horizontal photographs are excepted but they must be labeled with the following information:
- Name of photographer
- Daytime telephone number
- Email address
- Address of the subject
- Site address label (Photos without site address will be disqualified)
Contest submissions must be submitted by July 13, 2018 by 5 p.m. They can be hand-delivered to the Historic Preservation Office at City Hall or mailed to the Historic Preservation Office, P.O. Box 44990, 400 S. Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32802.
