The first-ever Hawkers location at 1103 N. Mills Avenue [GMap] is listed for sale on LoopNet, a commercial real estate site.
We reached out to the owners of Hawkers for the story and their press person told us that despite the listing, they are not for sale.
“We are not moving. We are pursuing a sale-leaseback to a qualified landlord as we are not in the real estate business.” – Hawker’s spokesperson
A leaseback is usually a financial transaction where someone sells an asset and then leases it back over the long term; so they can use the asset but they don’t own it anymore.
LoopNet has the single-story, 3,600 SF property is listed for $2.5 million. IT’s a Class C, restaurant space that was built in 1953 zoned MU1/T. They have roughly 1,000 SF of parking available.
