Rollins College has been planning to build a new parking garage at 200 E. New England Avenue [GMap] but now Winter Park is looking to join the party.

The new garage is currently planned as part of an expansion to the Lawrence Center building and was originally going to measure in over 38,000 SF. But during a City Commission meeting last month, Mayor Steve Leary requested staff to work on partnering with the college on a shared parking structure.

The project could now include a total of 405 spaces versus the original 184, according to Winter Park staff, if it moves forward. The collaborative parking garage is still a work in progress.

Kimley-Horn was recently commissioned to provide a 24-page report on how to improve parking in Downtown Winter Park, which you can see HERE.
