Colonial Drive will close to traffic from 10  p.m. Saturday, July 14 to 6 a.m. Sunday, July 14 for the installation of a truss for the new Pedestrian Overpass.

Colonial will be closed between Orange Avenue and Garland Avenue to accommodate the installation of a steel truss, which will be assembled using a dolly system and several cranes.

Message boards will be installed in advance to notify commuters of the closure as well as detour signs for how to avoid the closure.

The bridge will measure over a quarter-mile in length once it is finished in early 2019. Find out more about the bridge project HERE.

Editor’s Note: This closure is reportedly not related to the expected replacement of the I-4 support column at the same intersection. More on that HERE.
