We told you in January that a new tea shop would replacing Smoke Shop Tobacco and Pipes at 714 N. Mills Avenue [GMap], but they are finally ready to open now.
RoyalTea (Website) will be soft opening on Saturday, July 21, followed by a grand opening later in the summer on August 28. They will focus on a limited menu of 26 items made with non-fructose sugars, including specialty teas like Indian Black Tea, Fruit Tea, and the internet-friendly Cheese Mouse Tea, made in-house.
Cheese Tea, which originated in Taiwan, is a sweet tea topped with a foamy dairy product consisting of cream cheese and condensed milk. People who ordered it are taught to drink it at a 45-degree angle to ensure they get the ideal mixture of tea and cheese – check out our Instagram to see a video of how to drink it.
The design and build-out of the new storefront was carried out by Michael Wenrich Architects (Website), the same team responsible for other popular retail projects like Sonny’s BBQ, The Bear and Peacock, and the State Auto building in Winter Park.
