The Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens will host international artist,  Jan Kalab, in their upcoming show, The Soul of Graffiti: Jan Kalab.

The Czech Republic-born artist is known for his innovative form of 3-D graffiti, which helped him make a name for himself in the ’90s, under the pseudonym of “Cakes” prior to moving to New York in 2000 where he started to paint train cars and abstractions on canvas.

The upcoming show will feature Kalab’s classic sculptures, 3-D canvases, select new works, and an original installation.

The Soul of Graffiti: Jan Kalab will run from August 28 to December 2 and is held in partnership with the Embassy of the Czech Republic to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Czechoslovakia.

The museum is located at 633 Osceola Avenue, Winter Park [GMap].
