“SGA has indicated they do not wish to fund the service any longer due to low ridership. The money saved from the elimination of the 212 will most likely be invested into other transportation services for the UCF student population.” – Matt Friedman, Director of Marketing Communications, LYNX

The University of Central Florida Student Government Association has asked the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) to discontinue the KnightLYNX 212 Red service, as early as August 24.

The SGA currently funds KnightLYNX routes in a partnership with LYNX in order to provide a free weekend service for any UCF student that shows a campus ID. KnightLYNX has traditionally been a service that provides free circulatory transportation on UCF campus but was expanded with the Red line to include a free Downtown connection via the 408.

UCF’s Downtown campus is expected to open in the fall of 2019.

LYNX will continue to offer their Blue route on-campus.
