Bungalower contributor and co-host of our weekly radio show “Bungalower and the Bus” on Real Radio 104.1, Jon Busdeker, will be hosting a pop-up dinner party at Nikki’s Place Southern Cuisine in Orlando’s Parramore neighborhood on Thursday, September 20 at 6 p.m.
This is the first dinner in a series of “Orlando 60 Field Trip” events hosted by Busdeker via his same-named newly launched mini-doc series. Orlando 60 (Facebook | Website) shares weekly videos that document local Orlando businesses, people, and organizations that are often overlooked, but no less noteworthy.
This special dining experience at Nikki’s will begin with samples of Southern dishes like fried chitlin bites, smothered chicken gizzards and livers, and okra soup. Dinner options include oxtails, fried chicken, baked chicken, smothered rib tips, or a veggie plate (made without meat).
Black Cauldron Brewery and Digress Wine will provide the refreshments.
Owner and chef, Nick Aiken, will discuss his life in the kitchen and his legacy in Central Florida’s dining scene; from his days working at Ronnie’s to serving Muhammad Ali, Coretta Scott King, and Elvis Presley. Aiken has owned and operated Nikki’s Place since 1999.
