The Handy Pantry (Facebook) has announced that they will be closing their popular convenience store in Lake Eola Heights on Thursday, September 20 on the Lake Eola Heights Historic District Facebook page.

The business, which has been operated by husband and wife team Dev and Arati Rai for the past 17 years, will close at the end of September or when they run out of stock.

A GoFundMe page was launched to help ease the closing for the Rai family and can be found HERE.

A curry dinner is also scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, September 21 at the Handy Pantry, located at 522 E. Amelia Street [GMap]. The menu consists of mixed curry vegetables, curry chicken, jasmine rice, chutney, and a can of soda or water if you’d like to show up and support them by eating their yummy food.

A new tenant for the building has not been announced.
