Iron Chef alum Chef Roberto Treviño has just confirmed the closure of his El Buda (Website) restaurant in Downtown Orlando.

The short-lived fusion restaurant replaced another short-lived space, Maddy’s Craft and Cru at 116 West Church St [GMap] back in December 2017, and specialized in a menu of dim sum small plates, and innovative dishes like katsu Cubano pork buns, octopus kaisu, and an extensive array of craft cocktails.

Other restaurants that have attempted to open in the alley-way-access-only venue off Church Street have included Chicago’s Stuffed Pizza, Brick and Fire, and Eternal Tap.

Trevino told Bungalower that he loves Orlando and is already looking for another space to open a new concept and is planning to stay in the City Beautiful.

Editor’s Note: Chef Trevino treated our team to a fantastic dinner for the 58th episode of “Bungalower and the Bus” which you can listen to HERE.
