The Milk District hybrid coffee shop/package store/watering hole we’ve been talking about for years is finally set to open this Saturday, October 20.

Whippoorwill Beer House and Package Store (Website) is a new craft beer and wine shop that is opening in a retail strip at 2425 E. South Street [GMap], just west of Market on South.

The bar will sell 16 rotating taps of craft beers and a small menu curated by Orlando Meats including charcuterie boards. They will also be offering grab ‘n’ go snacks, beer, and wine and have been working with Progress Wine on their offerings.

Other special features include beautifully painted bathrooms (see our Insta stories), tabletops and furniture by Maitland’s Grit and Grain (Website), with specialty fabrics by Boca Bargoons (Website), a brise-soleil accent wall, murals designed by Secret Society Goods (Website), and fun things behind the bar like porron wine pitcher/bongs.

A coffee bar run by a separate business owner, Easy Luck (Facebook | Website) will provide coffee and to-go beverages, snacks, and specialty toasts. They will be operating under limited hours and a smaller menu during their soft-opening phase.

Easy Luck will be using Ligature Coffee but will also be selling cold and dry goods, curated by co-owner and musician Tanner Jones of You Blew It.

Current operating hours are 7 a.m.-3 p.m. daily for Easy Luck, with Whippoorwill opening 3-11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 3 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.

A grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, October 27.
