Orlando Brewing (Facebook | Website) has been slinging locally crafted beer since 2004, but its first home was in a warehouse that was seized by FDOT under eminent domain to create the South Street exit on Interstate-4.
The locally-owned brewery moved into a warehouse just up the street in SODO’s industrial park area at 1301 Atlanta Avenue [GMap] and has been there ever since. They were the first brewery to have their beers declared as “Fresh from Florida” and became a certified organic brewery in 2006.
Now, the building is about to be sold to Orlando Health to be used for operations purposes as they continue to expand their campus in the area.
“Orlando Health has a purchase agreement with the existing owners but we do not yet own the property. We reached out to Orlando Brewing early in the process to let them know we will honor their current lease, which gives them adequate time to identify and move the business to a new site. We are unable to extend the lease past its current expiration date due to pressing operational needs of Orlando Health.”

When asked if they had a plan to move out, John Cheek, owner of Orlando Brewing, told Bungalower:
“We have 3.5 years till we have to move. We are looking at our options as we move forward.”

Has Orlando Brewing considered setting up shop at the Fashion Square Mall? I think they’ve got a little bit of space to work from…

Yes! I always thought that place would be great for a brewery/event/concert space.
This might be a great opportunity to get to somewhere more visible and accessible, but i do hope they choose to stay in SoDo
