A new Mexican restaurant has opened in the space formerly occupied by Gaviota Seafood and Fine Peruvian Cuisine, located in the base of the Sanctuary Building at 100 S. Eola Drive [GMap].

Coco soft-opened this past week, sneaking in under our radar until just this week. Serving staff told Bungalower that the idea was to just open as quickly as possible and get the staff working prior and up to snuff before coming out of the pantry, if you will; which is why you can’t find any website or social accounts at this time.

The restaurant is a venture by the owners behind popular nextdoor neighbor, Oudom Thai and Sushi (Facebook), and the head chef is a sexy celeb out of Mexico, Chef German Garcia. Scroll down to see a video of Chef Garcia doing a cooking show so you can see his handsome face for yourself. It’s Spanish, but just put it on mute if you don’t comprende.

A grand opening is yet to be set, but the restaurant is currently open for lunch and dinner and closes at 10/11:30 p.m. daily. Scroll down to see photos of the menu and some dishes that we sampled at a recent visit.
