OUC has applied for a Conditional Use Permit to request an expansion to their existing electrical substation in Ivanhoe Village, behind the currently vacant Ivanhoe Building which overlooks Gaston Edwards Park [GMap].

If granted, the 6.7-acre piece of land would be almost entirely taken up with the proposed substation and an added wet retention pond, just on the southeastern side of the Orlando Urban Trail.

This move puts to rest a long-standing rumor that the land would be used in a pending land swap deal to incentivize the redevelopment of the vacant Ivanhoe Building.

This project is tentatively scheduled for a public hearing on February 19, 2019.
