Rollins College Environmental Studies professor, Leslie Poole, was featured in a documentary about the Everglades on Tuesday, January 15 on PBS.

The Swamp (Website) looks at historic efforts by Man to tame and shape the Florida Everglades, starting in the 19th century.

Poole is featured sharing her work on the role of women in 20th century Florida conservation and how Florida Federation of Women’s Clubs helped to found and operate the Royal Palm State Park, Florida’s first state park.

The film is based on Michael Grunwald’s book, The Swamp: The Everglades, Florida, and the Politics of Paradise.
