Taco Bell Cantina will be opening their second Central Florida location, ever, in downtown Orlando by the end of the year.

The Instagram-friendly Cantina brand, which features familiar Taco Bell favorites, is skewed to more urban audiences with open kitchens, sharable appetizers, and alcoholic beverages like sangria, wine, beer, and “twisted Freezes.”

The new 2,475 SF downtown Cantina will occupy a portion of the ground floor retail space in the One South Orange building, located at 1 S. Orange Avenue [GMap], which formerly housed Ruby’s Mediterranean. The remaining 3,500 SF of retail space, comprised of a piece of the recently closed ONO Nightclub and Pita Pit which has been opened up to the second-floor mezzanine and will feature 20-foot ceilings, are currently being prepped and shopped to other retail/restaurant tenants.

Bungalower was told that the reassembling of the retail spaces to feature higher ceilings and more open square footage is in part to make downtown retail more attractive to national tenants, like the new Yum Brands-owned Taco Bell Cantina.

The new restaurant is expected to have a Fall 2019 opening and will be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night service.
