PROMO: Boone High School’s Theatre Department will perform their next Musical, Catch Me If You Can, at Edgewater High School from February 14-16.

As you may recall from our post last September, HERE, Boone High School is currently building a performing arts center which means the theatre department has had to put on their productions at other venues around the city.

This upcoming production will be hosted at Edgewater High School which is a unique situation because of the history of the two schools. Up until 1952, Orlando only had one high school, but when the school closed, two new schools took its place; Boone and Edgewater High School. And thus began a 66-year rivalry.

In the spirit of camaraderie, Edgewater extended an olive branch to Boone and offered to allow them to perform in their facilities.

Based on the hit film and the incredible true story of Frank Abignale Jr., Catch Me If You Can is the high-flying musical comedy about chasing your dreams by any means necessary and not getting caught. With nothing more than his boyish charm, a big imagination, and millions of dollars in forged checks, Abignale successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer; living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. Eventually, Frank’s lies catch the attention of FBI agent Carl Hanratty, and Carl pursues Frank across the country to make him pay for his crimes.

Boone High School’s Catch Me If You Can performances will be on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, February 16 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Edgewater High School, located at 3100 Edgewater Drive [GMap].

Tickets are available at TeachTix.com and at the door.
