The hotel concept we told you was moving into the former home of Doc’s Streetside Grille back in 2015 is finally close to opening.

The Delaney Hotel (Website) will be a new boutique hotel located at 1315 S. Orange Avenue [GMap] directly across the street from Orlando Health

Hotel president Greg Allowe told Bungalower that the reason the project has been taking longer than expected is largely due to the fact that it’s a mish-mosh of older buildings; the original building was built in the ’60s, and in the ’90s there was an expansion to house Docks Restaurant, and now with the new hotel piece they’ve had to mesh all three uses and building layouts to create something new.

Allowe said the 75-seat bar, 200-seat restaurant, 54-room boutique hotel will feel hip and contemporary with a Cheers‘ vibe that will hopefully cater mostly to locals.

The adjoining tavern will serve “elevated American cuisine” for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with an $8-12 price point.

Other amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, Smart rooms and a digital concierge, room automation, bathroom mirrors with integrated clocks, and more. They’ll also have a complimentary Tesla/Universal Charging station.

Three years into the renovation of the property, the hotel is inching closer to an opening in late spring/early summer of this year.
