A new Florida-based company called “Beep” just announced a deal with NAVYA (Website), a leader in the autonomous vehicle market to test their driverless vehicles in Lake Nona.

Beep (Website) will lead testing and pilot deployments of NAVYA’s driverless, and fully electric shuttles out of their Lake Nona headquarters, as early as this spring.

Two AUTONOM shuttles, holding up to 15 people each, will travel on fixed routes within Lake Nona with speeds of up to 16 mph, with a dedicated operator on board (just in case).

Orlando was selected as one of ten official Automated Vehicle Proving Grounds in the nation by the U.S. Department of Transportation in January 2018. More on that HERE.

Editor’s Note: Lake Nona is a Smart Community and its upcoming multi-family development, Pixon, will have a Tesla Model 3 car share program. Because, Lake Nona.
