On July 23, 2018, City Council approved, as part of the FY 2018 Annual Action Plan, a request from Hannibal Square Community Land Trust, Inc. for Community Development Block Grant Program funding in the amount of $125,000.

The CDBG funds will be used to rehabilitate approximately one to three affordable housing units that are not owned by the City in the West Lakes neighborhood and sell to eligible low and moderate-income households.

The sale will be a fee-simple transaction; the land will not be held by Hannibal Square Community Land Trust, which is a non-profit corporation that focuses on the acquiring, rehabilitation, and resale of property to provide affordable housing in the area.
