Glenn Closson of Ivanhoe Park Brewing Co. (Website) in Ivanhoe Village was a recent recipient of a facade grant from the City of Orlando. The funding paid for a massive overhaul of his former warehouse into the brewery it is today, including funds for a possible mural.

Closson asked us for a recommendation for a muralist and we gladly put him in contact with Thomas Thorspecken, a prolific urban sketcher and blogger at Analog Artist Digital World (Website).

We knew that Thorspecken (Thor) had been sitting on a mural design from 2014 that he had created for the Ivanhoe Village Main Street program which had to be scrapped when their old home was demoted to make way for The Yard at Ivanhoe Village development.

The incredibly detailed mural took roughly 39 days to complete as Thor painted the entire design by hand (with some help from Pam Schwartz of the Orange County Regional History Center to reach some of the high parts).

The mural is located on the rear side of Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company at 1300 Alden Road [GMap] – be careful though, it’s close to the train tracks.
