The CEO of United Arts of Central Florida, Flora Maria Garcia, has announced that she will retire in early 2020.

Garcia, who has worked with the organization for the past seven years, announced that she was stepping down at a board meeting last week.

Garcia plans to move to St. Petersburg and her last day at United Arts is expected to be January 31, 2020.

A search for a new Executive Director has not been launched at this time.

The organization has gone through a number of changes in the past month, including the naming of a number of past Vice Chair of Development Brendan Lynch, shareholder at Lowndes, as new Board Chair and current Treasurer Daniel O’Keefe, shareholder at MSL CPAs and Advisors, as the new Vice Chair and Chair Elect.

Staff changes include a new Development Director, Manager of Grants and Arts Education, and Development Manager.

United Arts has invested more than $150 million in the Central Florida arts and culture scene since 1989 and serves more than 60 local arts, science, and history organizations in Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties.
