PROMO: BC Theatricals and Thomas M. Bunting Projects have teamed up to present a one night only performance of the hit play MUTTNIK. The evening will benefit the angel-like work of The Barber Fund, which helps people living with cancer.

In November of 1957, Soviet scientists sent the first living thing into space; a stray dog. MUTTNIK is a “one dog play” that draws from historical events to create a story of purpose, life, and death told from the perspective of a Russian pup. Written and performed by Bruce Ryan Costella, MUTTNIK debuted at 2018 Orlando Fringe and enjoyed multiple sell-out performances and received an Orlando Fringe Critic’s Choice Award.

Orlando Sentinel’s Matt Palm called it a ‘gently humorous piece’ and went on to add, ‘I am a dog person, and the thought of this mutt all by himself in scary, unfamiliar surroundings left me teary-eyed more than once.’

MUTTNIK will be performed at The Venue, 811 Virginia Drive [GMap], in Ivanhoe Village on Wednesday, April 3 at 8 p.m., door for the performance will open at 7 p.m. and the bar will be open at that time. Tickets are $10, available at HERE or at the door.

In addition to funds raised from ticket sales, donations to The Barber Fund will be accepted at the event. Donations can also be made HERE.
