The Crealdé School of Art (Website) will share an exhibition of photographs and candid living histories of Winter Park’s African American community elders in The Sage Project, Phase II: Hannibal Square Elders Tell Their Stories starting this Friday, April 12 at the Hannibal Square Heritage Center.

The show will run through August 31 and features portraits of 17 local senior residents who are now in their 80s and 90s and are longtime residents of the west side Winter Park community.

Oral histories have been recorded by Heritage Center historians, Fairolyn Livingston and Mary Daniels, who are also longtime residents. The portraits were captured by photographer Peter Schreyer.

Attendees will have a chance to meet the elders in person at a special ceremony at 6 p.m. this Friday and a panel discussion is scheduled for Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m.
