We told you that Orlando’s homegrown Juice Bike Share stopped operating just last month, but they have already fulfilled their promise to return and this time they’re dockless.
Following a rebrand and the end of their contract with the City of Orlando, the newly-Christened HOPR has launched as a licensed operator and replaced their orange bikes with blue ones.
The 250 new HOPR bikes are GPS-enabled and have a new locking system that allows users to simply scan a QR code on the back of the bike in order to ride. Though the bikes are dockless, riders are encouraged to return them to designated parking hubs and public bike racks.
Trips cost $1 to unlock and 15 cents per minute afterwards but monthly passes are available for $20 a month. Annual passes cost $99 with 60-minutes of ride time allotted for a day, with extra time charged for at a 10 cent a minute rate.
