In the wake of a $70,000 facelift just two years ago, the Mills 50 location of Hawkers Asian Street Fare (Facebook | Website) is looking to expand their popular restaurant yet again.
The last expansion saw the addition of a new metal awning over an expanded patio area with new fencing, landscaping, and paint. The new addition will see the popular restaurant convert an unused waiting area into an outdoor dining area.
Located to the east of the main building, an existing wooden deck would simply be activated with more seating and areas to congregate.
The project is expected to be seen at the upcoming Board of Zoning Adjustment meeting on Tuesday, May 28. It is marked for denial by staff, as they worry that by adding more seats to the restaurant, they would be stretching the site to its maximum intensity and increase the demand for parking.
