The Orlando City Soccer Club has requested the approval of a temporary use permit to operate a fan zone on its property just east of the MLS stadium; north of Church Street and west of Terry Avenue.
The proposed fan zone would launch with the Major League Soccer All-Star game on Wednesday, July 31 between 3-7 p.m. and be used for subsequent home matches, beginning on August 3.
The fan zone, which would only be open on game days, is expected to feature sponsor booths, food trucks, music, soccer-themed games, autograph signing opportunities, and prize giveaway stations. The early plans also include a beer garden.
The lot is currently permitted for employee parking.
The request is marked for approval by City staff for one year, with an option for two one-year extensions if certain conditions are met, including the installation of a six-foot-tall fence around the property, and a hedge must be planted separating the nearby church.
The application included the following potential layouts for the new fan zone if it were to move away from its current home in the Church Street Main Street.
