“Orlando is growing up and bagels are donuts for adults.”

A new bagel concept has soft-opened in the Eola General space this week, and is experimenting with their menu and getting feedback on their offerings.

Swan City Bagels (Instagram| Website), the latest addition to the evolving Eola General space in Lake Eola Heights, is run by local duo Mike Cortada and Racine Richman. Cortada (Website) runs his own design studio and has done some high profile work for Warped Tour bands like A Day to Remember, Pierce the Veil, and more. Richman is a chef and yoga instructor.

When Eola General part-owner Shaun Noonan told Cortada he had an opening at Eola General for a new food provider (founding partner Joseph Roberti has “amicably parted” and moved on) he advocated for Richman to move in with her fledgling bagel concept.

A new mural is currently being installed on the back wall of the shop featuring a swan on Lake Eola in recognition of the new foodie partnership. Meanwhile, social media is showing a bit of blow-back for the name; since it’s so similar to popular homegrown merch brand Swan City (Instagram | Website).

A grand opening will come later this summer once the menu has been established. They are currently serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.

Editor’s Note: The charcuterie boards are still being offered.
