Nearly three weeks of nightly closures are headed to Colonial Drive where it meets with Interstate 4 in Downtown Orlando.
I-4 Ultimate crews will be demolishing the old westbound travel lanes to make way for a new I-4 bridge over Colonial Drive, and in order to safely remove it, nightly closures are necessary. Crews will work at night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays causing the closure of Colonial Drive directly under the interstate at those times.
Continuous closures of Colonial Drive are scheduled on the weekends of August 2 and August 9 between 10 p.m. Fridays and 5 a.m. Mondays.
Drivers will be encouraged to use Amelia Street as a detour, as shown above.
Construction will occur as early as July 31.
