ARTWORK VIA HOODS UP CAFE INSTAGRAM

“AH! Did somebody buy Hood’s Up in The Milk? I just saw something called The Hoods Up Cafe launch an Instagram account.”
– Bungalower Reader

Savvy Instagrammers have been blowing up our Bungalower DMs this past week in regards to a mysterious new pop-up that’s been teasing our readers with promises of yummy dishes at The Milk District’s most-coveted vacant property, Hoods Up.

Bungalower had a chance to chat with the brain behind The Hoods Up Cafe (Instagram) late last week to get the tea.

Eric Andre Olang, a talented photographer you can follow HERE on the ‘gram, explained to Bungalower that the one-night pop-up will feature a menu of butter chicken, basmati rice, homemade naan bread, and mango lassi that will be available for delivery to the vacant Hood’s Up property on the hour at 9 p.m., 11 p.m., and 1 a.m. Thursday, August 8 through Saturday, August 10.

The Orlando-born Olang learned to cook OG Indian food while backpacking and doing photography work there in 2013 for six months. This is the first pop-up in a series that was inspired by potlucks he’s been hosting with friends like local street artist Halsi, who is also working on the pop-up with Olang.

“I wanted food as close to the real thing as possible. I just want people to taste some dank food.”
– Eric Andre Olang

To secure your meal, you must direct message Olang via Instagram and choose an available time slot for your meal pickup. All meals will be prepared offsite, at a nearby kitchen.

The Hoods Up building, located at 2400 Robinson Street [GMap], is still vacant and full of pool noodles.
