The Orange County Public Library System is about more than books.

Following the national trend to become real-world laboratories and community-serving platforms for awesomeness, our local library system has just launched something really special; a passport to local engagement opportunities.

The “Local Wanderer” is essentially a cultural pass that lets Orange County Library cardholders experience museums, sporting events, concerts, and more just by using their library card. That’s right, it’s totally free.

To reserve a pass, just follow these steps via the link at the bottom of this post.

  1. Click the “reserve pass” button
  2. Browse for passes by date or venue
  3. Make a reservation using your library card credentials
  4. Print or download your requested pass. Please keep in mind that in addition to your pass, you will be required to present your library card that matches the barcode and name on your pass. The customer who reserved the pass must be present at time of redemption.

Each pass can be redeemed once within 14 days of checkout. The number of people that can use one pass will vary depending on the venue. Some passes only allow free admission for the customer who made the reservation, while others allow for groups of up to four. Please refer to the individual details of each pass for more information.

Participating organizations include Mennello Museum of American Art, Hard Rock Live, Orlando Museum of Art, Central Florida Zoo, Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, Orange County Regional History Center, Orlando Repertory Theatre, and Orlando Solar Bears. And the list is growing, with more to be added soon.
