Sonny Nguyen of DOMU fame will open his new Tori Tori concept “very soon.” |
Bungalower was able to be among the lucky few who were invited to a recent tasting event at the new Kushiyaki concept located at 720 N. Mills Avenue [GMap] by Pho 88 late last week.
Tori Tori is a bar first, modeled after a Japanese pub in the sense that the food is affordable, the drinks cold, and its all meant to be enjoyed after a long day at work.
The menu ranges from yakitori to fun inventions like the “handies,” Nguyen’s take on a hand roll.
Tori Tori is in a very curated soft-open with invites being sent out to whomever signs up on their website HERE. Signing up doesn’t guarantee you a seat though, so be patient. Seatings will be taking place twice a night between September 4-8 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. respectively.
An official opening date has not been released at this time but we hear it could be any week now.
Listen to the most recent episode of “Bungalower and The Bus” to hear hosts Brendan O’Connor and Jon Busdeker get progressively less intelligible as they enjoy all of the sake Tori Tori had to offer.
